it’s the DJI mic, I bought it recently and it’s been sooo helpful when there’s a lot of background noise! I record with my iphone lol and the iphone mic is definitely not good enough for those types of situations 😅😊

Man, she is just trying to sell a dream .. she doesn't understand that tech job market changed a lot globally, there are a huge number of people now searching for a job and so the competition is super high. She shouldn't advice people a path that she didn't do .. she isn't self-taught, she has a college degree.. her mentor were self-taught but they have been programming for years, not yesterday, when the market was different. Another thing she got a remote job as a senior because she is a lady and company, from my prospective, wants to have a diversify environment and since ladies are really few in tech, it is easier for them to enter.

Hi Anna 😊👋🏼 Instead of applying for an entry level full time position, have you tried applying for internships? Usually companies don't expect interns to have a lot of experience and you don't necessarily need to show that you already completed big projects or have a big portfolio. This will give you a chance to get some first work experience without a lot of pressure which can help you land a "regular" entry level job afterwards. You might even get a job offer from the company you did your internship with afterwards :) This is how I started out. I know I have a degree which is different from your situation but to be honest I didn't know anything about how things work in the real world since at uni all the stuff we learned was pretty theoretical. I actually learned all practical stuff once I started working (which kinda defeats the purpose of having a degree in my opinion if you need to learn everything from scratch once you start a job and I don't understand how degrees have that much meaning - but that's a whole different topic haha). Anyways I knew nothing when I graduated and learned everything at the job. So it's very likely that you already know more stuff after the bootcamp than a lot of graduates 😉 Ok that was a little off-topic but maybe helps put things into perspective. So yeah, internships are a nice way to get started! Also don't worry too much about where to get an internship, it does absolutely not have to be FAANG or any other super well-known company, any internship will do because they give you experience and it's easier to get one at a company that does not attract the whole world and is super hard to get into. It is more about the work experience itself and not about where you worked at. (Maybe later that is a bonus but if you're just starting out there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.) I come from the countryside in Austria and did my first internship in a company most people have never heard of and I still later landed jobs at other, bigger companies. I hope what I'm saying makes sense. 😁 The easiest way to get an internship is through networking. You don't need to know anyone who works in this industry personally, go to job fairs or conferences where companies have their booths and talk to their HR guys and tell them about your situation and what you are looking for! (Also how I got my first internship lol). Most of the time the people there are super nice and are happy to have a chat. I really hope this helps! 😊 Oh, almost forgot to answer your second question: I got my degree from a super small uni in the western part of Austria.

I like to switch it up every now and then and change my keyboard position because the laptop screen is higher this way, but yeah staying like this the whole day would definitely become uncomfortable after a while 😜 Traveling with all your gear definitely limits you a bit in this regard and I haven't found the perfect laptop stand yet...

I agree to disagree :) there have always been ups and downs in the past but I know many many companies that are still hiring at this moment - I am on the lookout myself since I’m curious where to go next. and I believe a career in tech will always be a great asset in the future because the world is always developing and without technology that is simply not possible :) the exact types of tech jobs that are popular might switch around a bit, look at AI jobs for example which are still extremely lucrative right now. One example for a job in tech that will forever be recession proof and very much needed is cyber security engineering. Even if companies are putting their development on hold, security is something they can not simply not decide to stop working on. I do understand where you’re coming from because obviously it is scary to see and hear that there are recessions (which will always happen every now and then) but in the grand scheme of things there is always opportunity in some fields.

@@iris-tabea yes, there re still companies hiring but they also receive an high number of applications.. there is a huge competition, so from my point of view, these companies which provides courses are trying to sell a dream that doesn't exist anymore. Agree with you about AI and security jobs but I think, right now, there is competition also there.

@@alex-cu1tz I totally understand what you mean, there is no guarantee that someone will get a job if they decide to take a bootcamp or get into tech through another way. However I still think that if someone is really interested in the field they should give it a go and try :) Like with everything else in life. There are also a loooot of free resources on the internet, there are so many other ways to learn other than bootcamps. Working in tech is not the end all be all and with this video I merely want to share some options for people who are interested :) I see where you are coming from and I am glad that you are sharing your concerns for everyone else to see and to make an informed decision :) Thank you!
